This mix media art piece is a portrait of the invisible struggle. Every element may represent a fragment of depression’s grip, the childlike doll symbolizes innocence burdened, the rusted nails radiating from its mind embody intrusive thoughts, the tangled moss represents a mind lost in endless overthinking, and the chains speak to the weight of feeling trapped. The antique plaques and haunting phrases are the voice of depression itself, whispering lies that so many silently endure.
Inside the small apothecary jar rests a collection of real human teeth, representing anxiety made physical, the unconscious grinding, clenching, and silent damage carried through sleepless nights.
